Non Regulated Waste
There are a few wastes that, while not meeting any of the criteria classifying them as Hazardous Waste or Universal Waste or as regulated in any manner at all but are still nonetheless wastes and by their nature demand cautious and prudent management.
These wastes are referred to as “Non-RCRA Regulated Waste” and should be labeled with the blue label as illustrated here to clearly identify the waste determination that had been made. The three primary waste materials at UK meeting this criteria are Ethidium Bromide, Formalin 10%, and Silica Gel though there are many other similar such waste streams that have or could be generated and these few are only provided as an example. You can contact Environmental Quality Management Department (EQM) for further assistance if you believe your waste is a Non-RCRA Regulated Waste and for the labels you see here – they’re free from EQM.
