There is the saying , that what you think you hate, is really just a projection of yourself, and this hatred leads to a type of suicide, war or annihilation. The women presented here all represent the same self. They are just one self, killing itself, and this symbolic act of suicide portends global destruction. The images used have been found in the newspapers, read on line. They are taken from real people in real situations. The video, Shot, is from an earlier body of work I made just after 9/11. Having lost my cousin in the World Trade Center attack I wanted to look closely at the transformation of energy from life to obliteration during that event.
