(24 of 40) Epithelial Pearls A disintegrating dental lamina is viewed at a much higher power. Frequently, these islands of epithelial cells form small cyst-like structures filled with a keratin-like material arranged in concentric lamella (A). These structures are referred to as epithelial (Serre's) pearls.
