(8 of 38) Intercalated Ducts The secretory acini in the salivary glands secrete into intercalated ducts (A). These ducts link the acinar lumen with the larger components of the duct system within the salivary gland. Several intercalated ducts are seen converging toward the center of the field. Clusters of serous secretory acini (B) can be seen at the ends of two of the intercalated ducts.
