- Course Approvals
GER 343 (Humanities) – approved, pending revisions to course review form
MCL 270 (Humanities) – approved
SPA 262 (Humanities) – approved
TA 150 (Arts and Creativity) – approved
- Discussion of UK Core Summit
The UK Core Summit is scheduled for October 18, 1:30-3 pm in the Lexmark Room of the Main Building.
Tentative agenda:
- State of the Core: about 200 courses approved for UK Core, breakdown by Area
- Transition from IGEOC to UKCEC: role of group
- Update on assessment of UK Core: first year is mostly an assessment of the assessment process
- Kathi Kern, Director of CELT: resources to support UK Core courses
- Success of transition from USP to UK Core
- Innovation of UK Core
- Faculty-driven process
- Questions/open forum for discussion
- UKCEC Rules and Charge
- Revision to Senate Rules regarding the USP Committee
- Group to review and offer revisions & suggestions at next meeting
- Requirements for Graduation in Senate Rules (5.4.3) needs to be revised to reflect UK Core vs. US
- Other Business
- Citizenship rubric: revised to reinstate original language (email circulated by Susan Larson on 10/3/12) – approved
- Offering of 8-week courses: Senate Credit Hour guidelines (5.2.1)
- UKCEC concern: seat time requirements may be met, but the content of some courses may not be suited for a compressed 8-week course
- Meeting for October 22nd canceled. Next meeting will be November 5th.
