1.     Approval of Rubrics.

Composition and Communication rubric ready for approval.  All rubrics will be voted on via email.

2.     UK Core Assessment Plan

Chris Thuringer presented the revised assessment plan. 

• The UKCEC had previously discussed the possibility of a periodic course syllabus review to be included in the assessment plan to maintain the integrity of the program and minimize “drift”.  After further discussion, the group decided that since the assessment plan focuses on Student Learning Outcomes it is not appropriate to include the syllabus review.  Instead, instructors will be asked to apply for “re-approval” of their course and will submit their materials directly to the UKCEC for review.  It was decided that this overall course review would be conducted on a four year cycle from the date (academic year) of the course approval, and that faculty will submit materials by the end of the spring semester of the fourth year. UKCEC will need to confirm the exact materials to be submitted before the first group of courses are reviewed in spring 2015.
• The UK Core Assessment plan is ready to move forward.
• The UK Core Summit is scheduled for October 18, 1:30-3 pm in the Lexmark Room of the Main Building.
