Maridely serves as the Assistant Director of Environmental Management Department, a position she has held since 2020. As a UK graduate from the College of Engineering and as a Licensed Engineer in Kentucky, she leads a staff providing guidance and assistance to the greater UK community regarding their environmental management needs, as well as crafting solutions to improve their infrastructure and workforce.  Her goals are to help educate her customers, empower them in developing solutions, and to identify those steps that are necessary to achieve success. Prior to joining UK, Maridely worked as a chemist and as an engineer for the pharmaceutical industry, academic institutions, as well as for federal and state agencies. She brings over 25 years of combined experience, including 12 with the Kentucky Energy and Environmental Protection Cabinet involving Kentucky and federal Hazardous Waste programs, regulations, policies, and procedures compliance.
