Welcome to Appalachia 101
Welcome and thank you for joining us in an exploration of the culturally rich and sometimes enigmatic region known as Appalachia. It is our hope that you will finish this mini-course with a deeper understanding of what Appalachia is all about and how this knowledge can impact your research on and in the region. Our goal is to help you as a researcher to feel comfortable working in the region and to encourage you to consider a variety of epistemological issues as you design and carry out your research there.
