Abrasion of Enamel

Examine the incisal edge of the tooth in the center of the field. The enamel is white (A) and surrounds yellow dentin (B) found centrally. Now that must be painful! The dentin has become exposed as a result of abrasion of the edges of the teeth. The surface of the dentin is excavated below the surface of the surrounding enamel because the dentin is softer and more easily worn away. What is C?

Legend

A - enamel
B - dentin
