Dental and Vestibular Laminae

The two processes that arise from the single primary epithelial band (A) continue to proliferate into the underlying tissue. One of these processes becomes the dental lamina (B), and the other becomes the vestibular lamina (C). These two laminae make their appearance during the 7th week in utero. The vestibular lamina will eventually form the oral vestibule - the space between your lip and gingiva.
