Low Power of Sublingual Gland

In this section through a sublingual gland, note the numerous mucous acini (A). Near the center of the field is a secretory duct (B). Secretory and intercalated ducts are very short in the sublingual gland. Therefore, fewer ducts are seen in sections of this salivary gland than compared with either the submandibular or parotid glands.
