Greg Brock is a
graduate of the Pennsylvania State University in human
development and family studies. He completed an internship in clinical/counseling
psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. He
has served as a faculty member at Texas Tech
University, University of Wisconsin-Stout and,
since 1987, at the University of Kentucky where he as
been chair and acting chair of the Department of Family Studies.
He has been a
clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy since 1977 and
an approved supervisor since 1979. Dr. Brock is a fellow in the American Association for
Marriage and Family Therapy, past board director, past chair of the Ethics Committee and a
winner of the AAMFT Post-Graduate Research Award. Dr. Brock is a Fulbright Award winner.
During 1997-98, he was a Fulbright Professor at Nanjing University in Nanjing, China.
Dr. Brock is
the founder of FAMLYSCI, the largest and oldest family science related discussion list on
the Internet. He has served as a member of the Advisory Committee for the National
Examination in Marriage and Family Therapy and a reviewer of graduate programs for the
Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Dr. Brock is a
certified marriage and family therapist in the state of Kentucky.
Dr. Brock has
published widely in the field of marriage and family therapy. His areas of expertise are
professional ethics and therapy treatment technique. He is the editor of the AAMFT Ethics
Casebook published by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and
co-author of several widely used textbooks in the field. He teaches courses on treatment
methods, theory and ethics. His research interests include practitioners' compliance with
ethics codes and the family near environment. Currently, he is developing and testing
methods to improve compliance with ethics among researchers and business professionals.
Dr. Brock is a professor in UK's family studies department and the director of its
Marriage and Family Therapy Program.
Dr. Brock was
born in the mountains of West Virginia and grew up in eastern Pennsylvania. After high
school, he served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy. He is
married and has three children. |
