In the midst of the 1940 explosion of superhero fantasy, Eastern introduced its second monthly title Heroic Comics as the official publication of Reg'lar Fellers of America, a junior athletic organization founded by Clair F.
Bee, then Director of Health Education at Long Island University. Reg'lar Fellers of America was dedicated to developing wholesome summer recreation for 12 to 15-year-olds through competitive sports, and Eastern's second
publication was to serve as the vehicle for promoting the organization to the nation's youth.
