Magnitude 5.3 earthquake in south-central Colorado August 23, 2011

A moderate earthquake occurred in south-central Colorado August 23, 2011 at 1:46 AM EDT. The epicenter was approximately 180 miles south of Denver. The magnitude 5.3 earthquake occurred at an estimated depth of 4 km (2.5 miles).
