Cross-Sectioned Dentinal Tubules at Mid Dentin Region

This is another ground section of dentinal tubules (A) in cross section, thicker than that in the preceding image (#10). Intertub-ular dentin (B) is again distributed irregularly, but take notice of the tubule density. This section is taken from the mid-dentin region (similar to the demineralized longitudinal section seen in image #8). Those tubules indicated by "C" demonstrate a thin rim of peritubular dentin. Note the appearance of dried remnants of odontoblast processes (D) in the dentinal tubules.
