on Unit 4.
In Unit 4 we study the Causal Argument, a
rhetorical form interested in answering questions of effects and causality.
The underlying rhetorical structure of the Causal Argument can be expressed
as X causes Y, although the ultimate expression of your actual thesis
might be phrased more complexly. At this point in the course, we
are well into our study of argument structure and have had considerable
practice reading and writing arguments. To our skills of paragraph structure
and conclusions, this unit adds the tools of organization and peer reviewing.
