MOHAMED HAMAD,
MSc, PhD in Physical Chemistry

Dr Hamad has done B. Sc. from Khartoum University, and obtained M. Sc. and Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from KFUPM, Saudi Arabia (1998). He appointed as Asst Prof in KFUPM, Saudi Arabia 1998-2000. Worked for Aramco 2000-2001. Since joined Dr crooks in 2001, Dr. Hamad's research interests focus on Drug Design and Discovery: He works on the design and synthesis of prodrugs and codrugs. He is involved in the projects about transdermal delivery of codrugs of naltrexone, naltrexol, bupropion, and hydroxybupropion. The purpose of this study was to design and synthesize codugs for simultaneous treatment of alcohol abuse and tobacco dependence. He is also involved in project about transdermal delivery of naltrexone. Naltrexone prodrugs are being designed and synthesized to improve the transdermal delivery rate of naltrexone, in order to make a therapeutically successful drug delivery system. Dr. Hamad's research interests also include:
-
Solid state characterization using different spectroscopic and thermal techniques e.g. particle size, polymorphism, acidity, stability.
- Polymorphism formation and analysis.
- Spectroscopic investigations (NMR & EPR, LASER, Fluorescence) to understand molecular motion.
- Investigation of Molecular Dynamics in neat solution, cyclodextrins and polymers.
- Instrumental Analysis ICP, UV, GC, HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, Fluorometry for identification and analytical purposes.
