Assignment 3 (additional credit)

1. Complete problems 3, 6, and 7 of chapter 5 (pages 203-205).

2. How will your logical design in problem 7 above be changed under each of the following circumstances:

(a) A course can be taught by more than one instructors.

(b) A second grade option for any course is available for any student.

(c) A student can take many courses.

(d) The cost per course varies depending on a particular instructor. A cost analysis for a student taking a set of courses is desired.

(e) Instructors are subdivided into two groups: teaching assistant and faculty. Only faculty has the attribute “Highest Degree Earned”. Only teaching assistant has the attribute “Expected Graduation Date”.

(f) Students can have multiple majors. Each major has multiple advisors but each advisor advises in exactly one major. A student of a particular major has exactly one advisor.
