Objectives:

This course examines tools and methods for executing electronic commerce (E-Commerce) initiatives.  It fosters understanding of implementation issues, provides knowledge of relevant technologies, and develops practical skills in building web-based E-Commerce systems.  Consideration is given to designing these systems' interfaces, functionalities, contents, and coordination protocols.  Technologies for building systems that conform to such designs are covered; examples include HTML, JavaScript, and higher-level facilities.

Assignments:

There will be assignments involving the use of HTML and JavaScript, written assignments, and a group project.  Details of these assignments will be announced in class with at least one week's notice.  Except for the group project, all other assignments are individual works (i.e., no copying from others or group work).

Quizzes:

To encourage student preparedness, attendance, attention, and participation, a total of 8 concept quizzes will be given during the semester, each marked on a scale of 10, with a guaranteed minimum of 5 awarded for merely being present. Of the 8 quizzes, only the best 7 will count. There will be no "make-up" quizzes, for any reason.

Exams:

There will be a comprehensive final.
