The Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra would like to thank and acknowledge the following people who came together to create this Discovery & Education site.

The concert, Building an Orchestra...by exploring the science of sound, is in March 28 & 29, 2006.

The internet presentation was made possible through the collaboration of The Lexington Philharmonic and the University of Kentucky Teaching & Academic Support Center (TASC). The website was designed and created by Dr. Diana Deen, instructional technologist at TASC and lover of the musical arts.

The information about the Singletary Center for the Arts was taken from a class presentation by students in Dr. Deen's Physics of Music class, Fall 2005.

The Lexington Singers for the sample audio clip used to demonstrate hearing loss and John Clark, Assistant Professor of Telecommunications at the University of Kentucky for making the audio clip "deaf."
