• ANS ~ gastrointestinal targets: stomach, intestine,colon; musculature+mucosal cells

• Sympathetic innervation ~ NE- inhibitory -- decr. Motility/secretions

• Parasympathetic innervation ~ ACh- excitatory -- incr. Motility/secretions

• endocrine/exocrine cells -- gastrin,GIP, etc.. TOGETHER - v. fine control of digestion!!
