IHP Recruitment Council
The Health Colleges Diversity Recruitment Council brings together recruitment staff from the University of Kentucky’s six health colleges and retention staff from the Center for Graduate and Professional Diversity Initiatives to propose, plan, and coordinate new initiatives, programs, and services effecting the recruitment of racially diverse, prospective students.
Council Members
Will Bickers
Will Bickers serves as the Director for Recruitment in the College of Health Sciences. He has previously worked as an Admissions Counselor in UK’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He is originally from Havelock, North Carolina and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor in Political Science in 2010.
Benji Bryant
Benji Bryant joined the UK College of Public Health in August of 2019. He has worked in higher education since 2004, with experience within student life, undergrad, and high school settings. His responsibilities include recruiting, application review, advising, event planning, and student involvement. He has a Master’s Degree in Education from Morehead State University.
Jason Edwards
Jason Edwards joined the UK College of Pharmacy as the Recruitment Specialist in September of 2018. He has worked in admissions since 2005, and has worked in the high school, undergraduate, and professional school setting. His responsibilities include recruiting, application review, advising, event planning, and strategic planning. He is a 2004 graduate of Georgetown College.
Brittany Feiro
Brittany joined the College of Nursing in June 2018 as a recruiter. Prior to this position she worked as a Life Enrichment Director in the nursing home industry for 4 years. Her experience in this area includes program planning, volunteer recruitment and managing special events. She has a Master’s Degree in Adult & Technical Education from Marshall University.
Rebekah Huff
Rebekah Huff is the Student Affairs Officer for the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Her role with the college includes recruiting potential students, as well as working with applicants and current dental students. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Alice Lloyd College and joined the UKCD team in March 2018. Her office is located in M134 on the first floor of the dental science building.
Wendy Jackson
Dr. Wendy L. Jackson attended Kentucky State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She subsequently attended the University of Kentucky College of Medicine earning a Doctor of Medicine. She remained at the institution for residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Jackson then furthered her education at the University of Louisville where she trained in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She currently practices OB/GYN at UK Healthcare. In addition, she is the Assistant Dean for Admissions at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. It is through these channels that she is able to address the one thing she is most passionate about…being of service to all mankind.
