The Minor in Statistics introduces undergraduates to the theory and practice of statistics and emphasizes the interdisciplinary nature of the field while providing training in modern techniques and exposure to important case studies. The minor is aimed specifically at social and life science students, as well as students in the traditional mathematical sciences. A minimum of 15 hours of course work is required to complete the minor, as follows:
Complete one of the following: STA 296, STA 321, STA 525 [3 hours]
Complete one of the following: STA 281, STA 320, STA 524 [3 hours]
Complete STA 570 - Basic Statistical Analysis [4 hours]
Complete one additional STA course approved by the Director of Undergraduate Studies [3-4 hours]
Complete one course from the student's area approved by the Director of Undergraduate Studies [3-4 hours]
