The minor in public policy will give students in any field the ability to analyze and discuss public policies, government processes, and the public welfare. Public Policy is an interdisciplinary field that incorporates concepts from economics, political science, finance, management, communication, and statistics, among others. Students will gain a unique, practical, and transferrable skillset in policy that will help them better understand the underlying regulations and processes that affect their major field. The skills taught in the minor are helpful for any student interested in leadership roles in their field, or for those pursuing work in government, nonprofits, or public service activities of the private sector.
