Health promotion is a process that enables individuals, groups, and communities to become empowered to take control of their health.
The curriculum equips you with a wide variety of skills and backgrounds and prepares you to explore an interest area in health and wellness and/or enter a graduate degree program related to health promotion. Coursework completed in the health promotion minor includes topical health content areas, introduction to health education and health promotion, and program planning. The minor is not a degree in health promotion, but it does allow you to gain an in-depth understanding of the principles of health and well-being associated with health promotion. These courses provide you with the necessary prerequisites and a strong foundation for advanced studies in health promotion, and the ability to tie in health promotion concepts in your chosen career.
