The Amazing Spider-Man 268 forms part of the huge Secret Wars II crossover. Multi-issue crossover stories were very popular in the 1980s, sometimes involving all of a publisher's super-hero titles for months at a time. The Beyonder, a nearly omnipotent, cosmic character inexplicably clad in a white leisure suit, first appeared in the Marvel-Super-Heroes Secret Wars crossover and was a main character in the Secret Wars II sequel. In Web of Spider-Man 6, the Beyonder turned an entire office building into gold and Spider-Man took a gold notebook for himself. As the story continues in "This Gold is Mine!", Spider-Man clashes with his millionaire archenemy Kingpin for possession of the book.  The covers of Web of Spider-Man 6 and The Amazing Spider-Man 268 combine to form a larger image.
