Magnitude 3.6 Earthquake on June 5, 2008 in Southern Illinois near Mount Carmel, Illinois

A minor earthquake occurred at 03:13:14 AM EDT (07:13:14 UTC) on Thursday, June 5, 2008 near Mount Carmel, Illinois.  The magnitude 3.6 event occurred 8 km (5 miles) WNW (300 degrees) of Mount Carmel, Illinois.  The hypocentral depth of the event is 5 km (3.1 miles).
