Agricultural Law Courses
C. Corby
Department of Agricultural Economics
Project Description
The Agricultural Economics Department and therefore the College of Agriculture are unique in that it offers three agriculturally oriented law courses. Clearly, the law can and does impact all parts of the agricultural economy. Students need to understand what these impacts might be and learn how to respond proactively when facing such issues. To address this need, practicing attorneys offer courses in agricultural law, environmental law and for the first time in spring 2008, equine law.
Impact
These courses provide agricultural economics students and other college majors the opportunity to learn of legislation, administrative regulations, constitutions and court cases that have economic ramifications on agricultural and rural life including basic principles of United States agricultural, environmental and equine law and regulations. The courses review major federal statutes and judicial decisions addressing agriculture, environmental and equine issues.
