2009 Results

The 2009 growing season was very unusual for Kentucky. We experienced a total of 35 inches of rain compared to the normal 24 inches from May through October. Temperatures were also consistently below normal. These conditions allowed some cool season plants to persist longer into the summer months, but also increased disease pressure, especially on the perennials. ('Normal' climate data provided by www.NOAA.gov and represents the average of years 1971-2000).
