QUALIFICATIONS: | Ph.D. in entomology or related biological discipline and demonstrated proficiency in insect genetics. Strong quantitative skills are essential. |
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | The appointee will establish a strong, competitive, basic research program in insect behavioral/population genetics. The research program might address the application of genetic principles to evolutionary studies, behavior, management of insect populations, and/or resistance. Familiarity with the techniques of molecular genetics is expected. Opportunities exist for multidisciplinary research interactions with ongoing programs. The incumbent will participate in the teaching of the College undergraduate course in genetics, develop and present a graduate level course in his or her area of expertise and superv 1 se/ advise graduate students. The incumbent will be expected to obtain extramural funding from competitive sources. |
