TITLE: | Extension Specialist/Associate (for Pesticide Impact Assessment, Pesticide Applicator Training, and Integrated Pest Management) |

POSITION DESCRIPTION: | The specialist will work with other Extension specialists to develop crop profiles, pest management strategic plans,and pesticide applicator training materials and publications. The specialist will coordinate with KY-NASS, the University of Kentucky Survey Committee, and other agencies to obtain information on invasive pest species and other pest/pesticide issues of significance to Kentucky. The successful candidate will also develop and implement annual surveys on crop and pest management strategies. |
QUALIFICATIONS: | B.S. in a biological science required (M.S. or Ph.D. in Entomology or Weed Science preferred). Excellent communications skills and a strong desire to work with people are essential. Some knowledge of pesticides is desirable. Computer literacy is required. |
SALARY AND BENEFITS: | Commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month position with appointments on an annual basis. It is entitled to full fringe benefits. |
