Unlike most, this mosquito spends the wither in its larval form in water-filled tree holes. They are often found in the same locations as the predatory mosquito, Toxorhynchites. In order to survive, the water in the tree hole must not dry up or freeze solid during the winter. These factors limit the numbers of both of these types of mosquitoes. |
