The Alfalfa Field Doctor
It is late June and conditions since seeding have been ideal. Growth has been good and the first cutting is about ready but the farmer noticed that the field has begun to take on a relatively even yellow color. The established field did not show any of this yellowing. It was cut about two weeks ago. Shortly after that, this field really started to turn yellow. The fall seeded field was cut about a week ago and was showing only a little yellowing.
Here is a close-up look at some of the plants in the spring-seeded field. The farmer is concerned and wants a recommendation.
