The Alfalfa Field Doctor
There is an area in the southeast corner of the field where at least 50% if the stand is missing. Many of the surviving plants are growing poorly and much shorter than those outside the area. Although the field is 3-years old, the farmer remembers a lot of clover growing there before the ground was worked up and seeded. The soil drains relatively well there so excessive moisture doesn't seem to be a problem. There is no sign of insect feeding on the stems or leaves.
