The 1999-2000 academic year for the WKU Block and Bridle Club began with the chapter's annual Summer Social-all who attended enjoyed the fun of a cookout and volleyball tournament. In September, the chapter hosted a successful Recruitment Week. Events were held each night of the week, including a barnyard rodeo, a scavenger hunt, a bowling night, and the Annual Initiation Banquet. The chapter was able to recruit 73 new members for a total 1999-2000 club membership of 105 members.

The chapter also had the opportunity to participate in the Kentucky Wood Expo held at the L.D. Brown Agricultural Exposition Center during the month of September. Block and Bridle members served food and drinks to approximately 8,000 people in attendance during the two-day event, thus raising considerable funds for the club. In October, chapter members were able to participate in a two-day tour of animal agriculture in the Lexington, Kentucky area. The group visited Alltech, Clairborne Thoroughbred Farm, and enjoyed the races at Keeneland. In December, the chapter held its first Potluck Supper and Social. The dinner and dance gave members the opportunity to celebrate the end of the fall semester.

In March, sixteen members attended the 80th annual National Block and Bridle Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. At the convention, WKU's Amanda Ramer was named as the recipient of the 1998-99 National Block and Bridle Junior Scholarship Award. Also, the club received second place for its Chapter Activities Report. The major event for the WKU Block and Bridle was the Little North American Showmanship Contest on April 1, 2000. A series of events were held the week of the show, including fitting demonstrations, a judging contest, a pork chop cook-off, a lip sync contest, and a silent auction. Those who were successful during the Little North American were honored after the show at the Annual Spring Awards Banquet. The WKU Block and Bridle enjoyed much success this year and is looking forward to a more progressive 2000-2001 academic year.
