The Colorado State
University Block and Bridle Club began its busy year with helping coordinate a
time honored CSU event, Ag Day, in which local farmers bring meat and crops to
cook for the public to promote agriculture before the first CSU home football
game. This year Block and Bridle
members were allowed for the first time to partake in one of the oldest events
at CSU, the painting of the white “A” on the foothills, representing the
Aggies and making the members true agriculturists for honoring those before
ourselves. Members worked extremely
hard in promoting agriculture this year by participating in two new events, CSU
Ag Adventure for Youth at ARDEC and Ag in the Classroom, which were days of
agricultural education for all third grade classes in the Poudre school
district. Many Block and Bridle
traditions were continued, such as the 68th Little National Western,
allowing CSU students to show the University’s livestock.
