UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY CLOVER GERMPLASM CENTER

PURPOSE AND GOALS

The pupose of establishing the Clover Germplasm Center and web site is to provide a readily available source of germplasm of Trifolium species to interested plant breeders, geneticists, botanists and other technical researchers who are interested in conducting research in this area.. This germplasm includes the wild and cultivated clover species, as well as genetic markers and enhanced breeding stocks of several of the cultivated species. Inasmuch as the list of Trifolium species is incomplete, it is hoped that other investigators will contribute to the Center as new species are discovered or described. It also provides in like manner a location where genetic marker stocks and be stored and perhaps increased as necessary. Personnel wishing to contribute stocks to the Center should contact N. L.
