EDP708: Internship in Counseling Psychology
The structure for supervision and interaction is primarily the responsibility of the on-site supervisor. Arrangements for co-ordination with
the departmental liaison--number of credits,
frequency of meetings, degree and type of mutual involvement between student and instructor, a product (if any),
how outcomes will be evaluated, and so forth--are negotiated with the on-site supervisor when the commitment is undertaken. The arrangements are required to be stated explicitly
up front and written down in a formal contract, filed with the department. (For the form and content of the contract see the appropriate Student Handbook.)
However, EDP708 can serve a slightly different function for EdS (Educational Specialist) students. In this case, periodic on-campus seminars may be held and records of on-site
involvement validated by review and signing by the instructor.
