TEL555 - Example of citing Internet resources
Here is a sample paragraph of how you should cite resources taken from the Internet:
The development of the Internet and the World Wide Web have impacted society in many ways. The digital divide is one of many problems that have resulted from the digitization of information. For instance, lower income households have Internet access and usage patterns that are alarmingly lower than higher income households (Bridis). Considering racial composition this discrepancy becomes evident. For example,
Minorities are losing ground even faster with regard to Internet access. Between 1997 and 1998, the gap between White and Black households increased by 37.7% (from a 13.5 percentage point difference to a 18.6 percentage point difference), and by 37.6% (from a 12.5 percentage point difference to a 17.2 percentage point difference) between White and Hispanic households. (National Telecommunication and Information Administration).
From Chart 1 it is evident that rural households have disproportionate telephone access when compared to urban and central city residents. These recent trends are alarming since, "despite these patterns of growth, the information 'haves' have dramatically outpaced the information 'have nots' in their access to electronic services" (National Telecommunication and Information Administration).

Here is an example of an Internet citation in a traditional reference list. Note that in text citations are adequate when creating a web page.
