In collaboration with some UK computer scientists and the publisher Pearson Education, I have developed a Web-based organic chemistry homework program called ACE Organic. This program asks you to draw organic structures in response to a question. If your answer is incorrect, you are given some feedback, but you are not told the correct answer. You need to keep trying until you get the right answer.
Your performance on the electronic homework problems (percentage of problems answered correctly, excluding the tutorials) will contribute to your overall grade. (See the syllabus for the proportion the homework contributes.) You will be allowed an infinite number of tries to answer most questions, so there is no reason any student cannot score 100% on the electronic homework. Feel free to ask for help from me on any problems. You may also use the course forum to post questions about the homework or to help other people with their problems.
ACE gives you the ability to grant yourself extensions on the homework. Here are the rules:

(Note: Some other universities have their own installations of ACE Organic. If you use Google to find the ACE home page, be certain that you have navigated to the University of Kentucky installation.)
