Dr. Neelakantan got his Masters degree in Chemistry from University of Madras and Ph.D in Synthetic Organic \ Medicinal Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Bombay at Mumbai, INDIA. He joined Dr.Crooks laboratory as a postdoctoral scholar and is now a staff person of the college with the designation of Research Associate. Dr.Neelakantan is currently involved in the Design and Synthesis of Novel Water Soluble Analogs of Parthenolide as therapeutic agents for the treatment of Cancer. His research work includes Design & Synthesis of Novel NMDA Receptor Modulators for treating neurological diseases and disorders such as Epilepsy, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Huntington diseases as well as neurodegeneration and other related central nervous system diseases and pathologies.
