BUCHI N-NALLURI,
MPharm, PhD in Pharmaceutics

     N. Nalluri has done B. Pharm and M. Pharm (Pharmaceutics) and obtained his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology (Pharmaceutics) from Andhra University (2002). Dr. Buchi's research interests focus on

  • Development of oral (solid and liquid) and topical (gels, ointment and creams) and transdermal dosage forms.
  • Development of sublingual tablets.
  • Design and development of novel drug delivery systems like controlled release transdermal patches and oral matrix tablet formulations etc.
  • Dissolution and formulation (solid dosage forms) aspects of poorly water soluble drugs using cyclodextrins and solid dispersion technologies.
  • Designing and carrying out studies such as solubility, pH rate profiles, drug-excipient interaction studies and solid state characterization of pharmaceutical solids using physicochemical techniques like DSC, Powder X-RD, SEM and HPLC.
  • Taste masking techniques.
  • Development of both conventional and controlled release dosage forms based on cyclodextrins.
  • Development of microencapsulation and particulate (nanoparticles) drug delivery systems for small molecules.
  • Development and validation of HPLC analytical techniques for new and generic drug molecules.
  • Conducting stability studies for different formulations as per ICH guidelines.
  • Exposed to working in GMP and GLP Environments and well versed with scale up and technology transfer aspects of different dosage forms.
