(11 of 16) Principal Fibers Between Teeth Principal fibers have established themselves between the roots of two adjacent teeth where the alveolar bone septum (A) has been resorbed. Here these fibers of the periodontal ligament (B) resemble transseptal fibers (C), one end anchored in the cementum (D) of one tooth while the opposite end is anchored in the cementum of the adjacent tooth. Note the resting lines (E) in the cementum. |
