Roadside Geology in Kentucky
Roadcuts along Kentucky's highways expose the bedrock geology around the state. The Kentucky Geological Survey has constructed a series of roadside geology guides as booklets and charts to help you understand the rock layers exposed along some of Kentucky's roads. This list contains titles of roadside geology maps and charts that were not part of officially sanctioned geologic field trips. Please be safe drivers and do not try to read the publications while driving. Also, please follow all state and federal highway regulations.
You can order copies of the following publications from the Publications Office of the Kentucky Geological Survey, or you can download pdf versions of the publications.
